Alamance County has hired Three Oaks Engineering to support the development of the Saxapahaw Pedestrian Safety & Traffic Calming Study. The study will evaluate pedestrian safety, traffic operations, and connectivity throughout Saxapahaw to identify opportunities that improve safety, comfort, and access for residents and visitors. The study will assess existing conditions, review community concerns, and develop recommendations that support walking, biking, and rolling while preserving the unique character of Saxapahaw.

This study is funded in partnership with the Burlington-Graham Metropolitan Planning Organization (BGMPO), which supports transportation planning efforts throughout Alamance County and the surrounding region.
The study focuses on key destinations, corridors, and community gathering places throughout Saxapahaw.
The study is expected to be completed in Fall 2026.
Community input is critical to the success of this study. Public feedback will help identify safety concerns, understand transportation needs, and shape recommendations for future improvements.
